Looks like the spring weather has finally hit Loudoun County!  It’s time to get outside and enjoy all that we have going on here this month!

First thing, April Is Virginia Vineyard month!  Lucky for us, Loudoun County has more than 40 wineries, each offering a unique tasting experience.  Click here to read more about the popular varietals you can find in DC’s Wine Country!  (and you might run into me at one of the wineries checking some of them out!).

The Leesburg Flower and Garden Festival is also this month!  The Garden Festival is a glorious sensory overload. The flowers and landscape and people are an eyeful. The music and chatter provide the background hum. And the pervasive smell of the event is… kettle corn.  Don’t miss it – the festival only runs from April 21-22.

Spring is also a great time to visit a few local gardens that may inspire you to create a secret garden hideaway of your own!  These coming weeks should bea great time to visit and enjoy the peak bloom!  For a tranquil setting, visit Oatlands Historic House & Gardens, a National Trust site dating back to the 1800’s. This site is one of the most peaceful in all of Loudoun and is sure to give you the perfect inspiration you need!  Relax with award-winning wine in hand in the gardens at Zephaniah Farm Vineyard. Bring a picnic and be surrounded by bright, beautiful flowers and of course, vines! This farm winery was featured in Travel & Leisure after receiving some of the highest Yelp ratings among wineries across the country. Open for strolling, hiking, picnicking and wildlife watching, Rust Nature Sanctuary is a 68-acre preserve offering meadows, wooded trails and beautiful forestry. Here, you’ll find a variety of wildlife and plants that will fascinate all nature lovers and inspire you to create your own secret garden!

Hope you take some time this month to enjoy the beauty of Loudoun County!
