Can you believe some of the communities already had their Independence Day celebrations this past weekend? I don’t know about you, but I like to celebrate holidays on the actual day! Here are a few wonderful events to check out in and close by to Loudoun County. However you decide to celebrate our nation’s independence, here’s hoping for a great time outdoors (with great weather) with friends and family!
Held at Lake Fairfax Park, the celebration begins at the Water Mine Water Park, which opens at 10 AM. Carousel rides and boat rides will be available during the day, along with puppet shows in the late afternoon. Then at 9:15, the fireworks begin accompanied by a musical performance from the US Army Field Band.
Held in the Plains, Virginia, this is a great celebration if you are looking for more than fireworks. Their gates open at 4 PM and they are offering a huge variety of children’s events (in the past, they have had laser tag, rock climbing, pony rides, moon bounces). Throughout the day, there will be a helicopter air show, polo exhibition, El Chatro parade and rocketry demonstration. And of course, the finale comes at dark with one of the biggest fireworks display. Tickets start at $35 per car.
Leesburg, Virginia celebrates the fourth of July with a full day of entertainment including a patriotic Independence Day parade, live music and a spectacular fireworks display. Celebrate America’s birthday at Ida Lee Park while listening to live music.
